Lore[]

Lurtz is the tertiary antagonist of the first film; The Fellowship of the Ring. He is the first of Saruman's Uruk-hai to be bred and is their leader at the time of the attack on the Fellowship of the Ring at Amon Hen. He slays Boromir in battle, piercing him in the torso with three arrows from a distance (in the book, Boromir is slain by "many arrows"). As he prepares to finish Boromir, Aragorn arrives and engages him in a brutal battle. Though Lurtz puts up a good fight, pinning Aragorn against a tree for a moment, Aragorn slices his arm off and stabs him in the stomach. Lurtz pulls Aragorn's sword further into his own stomach in an attempt to reach and maul Aragorn, but Aragorn quickly decapitates Lurtz, killing him instantly.

Lurtz's name is never spoken aloud in the film, and is only known from the credits and merchandise.

Official LEGO.com Description[]

(Do not modify)

Commander of the Uruk-hai Army, the most powerful of all Uruks. Lurtz was the first born from the first batch of Uruk-hai. Not only is he stronger than any other Uruk-hai, he is also smarter. And that is always a dangerous combination. He feels no pain, only rage.
